Tribe Fills the House & Donates over $30,000 to Our Lady of the Wayside

Cleveland, Ohio --- The Cleveland Indians announced the donation of $30,580, plus an additional $900 was raised at a silent auction during the Wednesday, May 13th “Fill the House for Charity Game” in support of Our Lady of the Wayside .

The Indians donated $5.00 of each ticket sold by The Wayside.  Also, $1.00 from every overall ticket sold at the game, was donated to Our Lady of the Wayside, to support the homes and people who provide services to the more than 300 mentally and physically challenged children and adults in Northeast Ohio.                    

The Indians also provided promotional support to help raise awareness for the charity and its event date. This included radio and television network promotions, a webpage dedicated to Fill the House for Charity (indians.com/fillthehouse), inclusion in the game day’s Batter Up! program, a scoreboard feature showcasing the organization and inclusion in pregame activities.

Included in Wednesday’s pregame festivities were: OLW Board Chairman Michael Jeans throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, Danielle Danburg singing and Ann Hutchinson signing the national anthem for the hearing impaired. Seven-year old Jack Smith, son of OLW Board member Megan Smith, got the honor of shouting “Play Ball” to start the game.

All Our Lady of the Wayside staff and residents attended the event, which was sponsored by Alpha Benefits and Panera.
