Northeast Ohio’s most prominent chefs raised more than $75,000 at Cleveland’s Finest Hors d’Oeuvre Contest, presented by Zito Insurance Agency to benefit Our Lady of the Wayside.
The event, which attracted over 600 guests, featured Cleveland's Star 102 hosts Desiray Cross, Jen Toohey & Tim Richards and was held Thursday evening, April 10, at the Terrace Club at Progressive Field in Cleveland, where a true “Dream Team” of Cleveland’s top chefs and restaurants showcased their most popular hors d’oeuvres.
This year, top award went to Chef Genevieve Larson representing Tree House Gallery & The Clifton with her Grandma's special recipe, Surf & Turf Rollin Rogies. Chef Marlon Mayorga of Corleone's Ristorante & Bar took second place with his Lump Crab and Copper River Salmon Cake with Cilantro corn relish and chipotle tarter sauce. Third place went to Chef Jim Bartko of Carrie Cerino's Ristorante with his creation of Pepperoni Rock Shrimp with Roasted Corn & Red Pepper Salsa Over Parmesan Crostini.
Guests enjoyed wine from Tom Gore Vineyards and beer samplings from Mill Street Brewery, Goose Island & KCCO. Delicious desserts were compliments of Becker's Bakery (Tom & Susan Becker) and Wasted Bakery (Michelle Heinz).
The Silent and Chinese auctions along with the 50/50 raffle helped raise more than $6,000.
Proceeds from the contest went towards our Pathways Program and a new partner home with Habitat for Humanity, Greater Cleveland.
