Providing Residential Services For Individuals With Developmental Disabilities

Extending Our Care

Working toward the "common good" is redifined every day at Our Lady of the Wayside. Residential, respite and transportation services for children, adults and seniors who need the support and programming our agency provides enables us to better the lives of many throughout the region.

This pursuit of the common good enabled the Wayside to complete 2011 with yet another balanced budget and has us focused on developing our family of services to sustain vitally needed programming in the community. As such, the agency has achieved the following milestones:

-450 individuals are served throughout Cuyaghoga and Lorain Counties
-Nearly 50 homes are managed by the agency with more on the way
-Over 70 vehicles make up our transportation fleet
-The Wayside has become a significant regional employer with over 400 staff

Additionally, the Wayside has expanded professional partnerships with many like-minded organizations including (but not limited to) Lorain County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) and Our House. CCBDD has partnered with the Wayside to open a second respite home which will provide emergency housing for individuals with developmental disabilities in need of residential services. And Our House, a congregate senior living facility in Westlake, will be joining the Our Lady of the Wayside Family of Services as it continues to dedicate itself to promoting the independence and high quality of life its residents want and deserve.

While our expansion efforts make the Wayside the dynamic and ever growing organization it has become, we are ever mindful that it is our compassion, professionalism and commitment to every individual we serve that makes all the difference. On behalf of Our Lady of the Wayside's Board and staff, thank you for all you do in support of our consumers and we look forward to your ongoing stewardship of the agency in continuing to work toward the common good.
