OVER $90,000 RAISED AT 10th ANNIVERSARY OF GRAPES ON TOUR 650 attend Wine Tasting Event to Benefit Our Lady of the Wayside

CLEVELAND, April 20, 2009 – More than $90,000 was raised in support of Our Lady of the Wayside helping the agency reach almost $1,000,000 generated over the last 10 years. Giant Eagle presented the 10th Annual Grapes on Tour wine tasting event on Friday, April 17 at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. The event was attended by more than 650 guests, who were treated to the most popular music and exhibits in rock and roll history and vintages from many of the finest wineries around the world. “We are so grateful for the support and attendance at Friday's celebration,” said The Wayside’s President/CEO Terry Davis. “We are proud of the continued relationships with our Presenting Sponsors Giant Eagle and American Airlines. We look forward to our move to Progressive Field in 2010 and these events go a long way towards assisting us in accomplishing our goals to create opportunities and pathways for our residents and their families.”

Our Lady of the Wayside provides homes and programs for 300 children and adults who are mentally and physically challenged in 29 communities in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties.

The event was attended by a large number of impressive local celebrities; including personalities from FOX 8, 107.3 THE WAVE, THE PLAIN DEALER as well as WMJI-FM 105.7 were also in attendance. Students from the Paul Green School of Rock Music kicked off the night's entertainment with 12 promising musicians showcasing their talents. Michael Stanley and friends played a stellar performance of his newest hits from his latest CD "Just Another Night" as well as great classics. Other highlights included an additional $5,500 raised during live and silent auctions of fine art and other rock and roll related items. Celebrity hosts John Lanigan, Melissa Mack and Joe Crea auctioned off an American Airlines Bahama Get Away, a Dave Matthews VIP Blossom Package featuring tickets and backstage parking for the July 29th show as well as tickets to the Jonas Brothers and a Batting Practice Experience for an upcoming Indians game along with an autographed Grady Sizemore bat. A Myrtle Beach vacation was given away to “Open the Door” key promotion winner Dan Rudolph of Bay Village. The Silent Auction featured rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia from photographer Janet Macoska and art from local artists.

The presentation of the “Best of Grapes” as voted on by those in attendance was presented to "Best of Red" Menage a Trois while "Best of White" was presented to Cupcake Chardonnay.

The 10th Annual Grapes on Tour is presented by Giant Eagle and American Airlines and is produced by Our Lady of the Wayside.
