Wayside views the health and safety of its consumers to be of utmost importance. The care provided by Wayside's Nurses is based on each consumer's individual needs. While some consumers require minimal Nursing Services, others with more involved healthcare issues require a great deal of Nursing intervention.

Wayside's Nurses are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of consumer healthcare are addressed. This includes, but it not limited to, medical appointments, medications, laboratory testing, assessments, and ongoing monitoring of each consumer's overall healthcare status. Just a few of the health issues facing our consumers are as follows: diabetes, seizure disorders, Respiratory Disorders, Cardiac Issues, Downs Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.

Wayside recognizes that the provision of Nursing Care to our consumers is critical to ensuring each consumer's healthcare needs are met. While Wayside receives partial funding for Nursing Services at the state and federal level, approximately $450,000 of the Nursing Services provided annually by Wayside is not funded.
