Our Lady of the Wayside’s Respite Program provides individuals with disabilities from the community a safe place during times of crisis or temporary situations. Consumers in the Respite Program receive the same level of high quality care and services that are provided to every Wayside home.
Individuals can access Wayside's Respite Program when family members need to travel for work, vacation or have other situations where support services are required on a temporary basis.
Referrals to the Respite Program are made through Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD). Our Lady of the Wayside is proud to operate two respite homes in partnership with the CCBDD.
- The Wayside assists with providing clothing and personal items to individuals who come to the program in a crisis situation.
- Individuals in the program have access to the same health and nursing services, personal assistance and programs that are available to each Wayside consumer.
Respite Program participants can take part in a variety of social activities through the Wayside and in the community, including: Wayside dances, bowling, craft club, social group, day trips and other outings
The Wayside works with the county board to find permanent housing solutions for consumers in the program.
