Agency Spotlight | Meet Medical Services
Did you know we have a full Medical Services Team consisting of 16 nurses and 2 medical assistants? They oversee all health-related matters and provide professional specialized care for the 800 individuals we serve. We believe incorporating this largely unfunded service into an organization like Wayside is vital to maintaining the highest level of support. Our nurses are available 24/7 and adapt to meet the needs of the agency and the broad spectrum of the DD population.
The employees of Wayside have access to this department as a support system when working hands-on in our residential locations and day programs. Medical Services assist with education, training, and daily health strategies, going above and beyond to make sure the staff feel comfortable when questions arise. This team not only communicates within the agency, but acts as a liaison between guardians, physicians, and county boards. This collaboration has built great relationships with healthcare professionals in the community.
Proud to have this unique program tailored for optimum health and well-being. Thank you to this caring and compassionate team for all they do!

Celebrating 50 Years of Opportunities
For 50 years, Our Lady of the Wayside has been honored. Honored by the opportunity to roll up our sleeves along side family members, volunteers and Board members to do the next right thing for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Honored by the opportunity to work with public corporations, private companies, individual donors and governmental agencies to change the lives of the most vulnerable for the better. Best of all, Wayside has been honored to have the opportunity to earn the trust, friendship and love that comes with caring for someone special.
2017 Marks our 50th year of serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Golden Anniversaries are typically a time to pause and reflect, but that's really not the Wayside way...Continued on our blog.
