Agency Spotlight | Meet Amy
Amy was introduced to Wayside while attending a Job Fair at Sanford-Brown College where she was part of their Medical Assistant Program. Once she completed school, she wanted to look for a job where she could gain hands-on experience. Knowing in the medical field she would work with a diverse population, she applied at Wayside to become familiar with individuals with disabilities. Amy fell in love with the work she was doing and has now been an employee for over 5 years. After working in a variety of our residential homes, she is currently an Adult Program Specialist at our Pathways Day Program in Westlake. Amy loves working at Pathways, and her energy and upbeat personality make it a great fit. She enjoys the fast paced environment and being out the community daily. Seeing the participants experience things for the first time and being a part of their memories is special to her.
Proud to have employees like Amy on our team!
Starlight Guardian Humanitarian Award Luncheon Raises $350,000
A special moment from Thursday's luncheon. Our Starlight 2017 Honoree, Sam Rutigliano, with former Browns players Dick Ambrose, Greg Pruitt, and Felix Wright. Congratulations again to Coach Sam! Acknowledging his heart for others and work in our community over the years was a wonderful way to celebrate our last Starlight event. We also recognized our champion Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Monsters for their partnership and all they continue to do for the individuals we serve. Thank you to everyone who joined us, including our many supportive sponsors. Proceeds from the event will go toward funding The Wayside's new Pathways Day Program locations in Cuyahoga and Summit Counties.
Celebrating 50 Years of Opportunities
For 50 years, Our Lady of the Wayside has been honored. Honored by the opportunity to roll up our sleeves along side family members, volunteers and Board members to do the next right thing for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Honored by the opportunity to work with public corporations, private companies, individual donors and governmental agencies to change the lives of the most vulnerable for the better. Best of all, Wayside has been honored to have the opportunity to earn the trust, friendship and love that comes with caring for someone special.
2017 Marks our 50th year of serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Golden Anniversaries are typically a time to pause and reflect, but that's really not the Wayside way...Continued on our blog.
